The world ocean covers 70% of the Earth, and its depths are still not thoroughly studied. Pollution of the water environment can lead to irreversible consequences, but everyone can contribute to its preservation. The seas and oceans play a huge role in our lives! The world ocean forms the climate of the planet, its waters serve as a source of precipitation and more than half of the oxygen on earth. People are increasingly using the seas and oceans, including their coasts and bottoms – for travel and recreation, cargo transportation, industrial fishing and seafood, oil and gas extraction, and, unfortunately, for the disposal of garbage and waste.
It would seem that with such a huge volume of the World's oceans, it is simply impossible to harm it, but people successfully cope with this. There are several global and extremely dangerous sources of pollution of the seas and oceans, such as:
domestic and industrial waste water,
disposal of chemical and radioactive waste,
petroleum products,
plastic soup.
Everyone can contribute to solving environmental problems.
Reducing usage of plastic
More people are talking about plastic now than ever-people have realized how serious damage it causes to the planet. The plastic that accumulates on beaches and in the oceans is leading to a global crisis. They claim that by 2050 there will be more garbage than there are fish now. Every year, thousands of sea turtles, birds, dolphins and whales die when they become entangled in or swallow plastic waste. It takes about a thousand years for a plastic bag or bottle to completely decompose, so now every piece of plastic produced still exists in nature.
Support ethical manufacturers
The laws of economics are such that demand creates supply, and a certain percentage of revenue, depending on the volume of sales, goes to expand production. If buyers support an eco-friendly business, they give entrepreneurs the opportunity to create product that do not harm nature or help society to be more sustainable.
Examples of companies that provide sustainable products:
CHILLY’S BOTTLE

This is a good example of one of the companies that produce reusable water bottles/thermo bottles that help to prevent buying one-use plastic bottles.
BRACENET

A company that offers hand-made bracelets from ghosting fishing nets, giving them a ‘new life’.
ECONYL

A company that uses trash for production of the fashionable products. Ghosting fishnets, plastic from various sources is being used and recycled for creation of clothing, bags, textiles. One important point is that recycled material is very durable since it is made from plastic/polyester/nylon.
EMBRACELET

Embracelet is also a company that has its role in circular economy. Bracelets are made from the recycled plastic bottles. 40 rPET bottles are used for creation of 1 kilogram of cord.
Reduce carbon footprint
Global warming is directly linked to greenhouse gas emissions: sea levels and water acidity are rising, and corals are dying. The ocean contains 50 times more carbon dioxide than the atmosphere, so maintaining its level is important for all living creatures. To reduce gas production, you can drive a personal car less often, choose organic products, plant trees, and save electricity. Another effective way to reduce the carbon footprint is to reduce meat consumption: livestock production generates the most greenhouse gases.
Choose eco-friendly cleaning products
Substances contained in cleaning compounds eventually end up in the sewer. They cannot be completely eliminated with the help of cleaning filters, and as a result of the water cycle in nature, some of the chemical compounds will sooner or later fall into the ocean. It doesn't matter how far from the coast you live. Untreated sewage, garbage, fertilizers, pesticides, industrial chemicals, plastics-most of the pollutants on land end up in the ocean, and sometimes they are deliberately thrown there.
To minimize the harm, people should choose organic cleaning products with non-toxic ingredients.
Pollution of the world's oceans is a global, multi-layered and fundamental problem, no one can cope with it alone, but there are 7.5 billion people on Earth, and if each of us is aware of our responsibility and will make, at least, a small contribution to the preservation of the purity of the ocean, then we can prevent a big disaster

Super interesting and informative post. I will for sure look into buying more eco-friendly and try to reduce plastic use and my carbon foot print as much as possible. I think it is amazing that your company tries to bring more awareness to this problem and also provides options on how to reduce the problem.
Very sad to see how most of the people are treating the planet. This was very informative and certainly an eye opener to make sure that I recycle more and reduce my carbon footprint
Oh wauw, this is very nice. I really like how you also gave examples of how we can help ourselves. I will definitely contrubite more know that I know more about it!!! Let's make the world a better place!!
Wow, very informative post! I hope others will contribute and support ethical manufacturers after they read this, I definitely will! it is only together that we can change the world for the better.
Very informative blog post! I hope everyone contributes to make our oceans pollution-free and make the world a better place.
